While drilling a shallow section of a well a fast drill break occurs and the LWD resistivity shows a high peak. What is this most likely indicating?

What is compaction disequilibrium?

A drilled interval which shows disruption caused by salt tectonics. A mechanism for pore pressure development. A well section disrupted by mud diapirism. A debris slide.

As an operations geologist you come under pressure from the drilling team to reduce the error bars on your pore pressure prediction. What do you do?

Reduce the error bar slightly. Ask the drilling team what value would suit them and use that. Decrease the error bar but decrease the fracture pressure prediction to compensate. Explain that you can't reduce the error bars as it would be a significant risk.
