Set up in 2000, Tim Herrett Ltd is a platform to provide my consultancy and training services to the upstream oil industry.
I have worked as a formation pressure engineer, wellsite and operations geologist for major oil companies, including BP, Mobil and Exxon for over 40 years and I am now using my experience and skills in the following areas:
- Training - bespoke and well-received oil industry training courses in pore pressure evaluation, wellsite and operations geology and high pressure, high temperature wells.
- Technical project work - Short or medium term projects to provide independent formation pressure and real time data evaluations.
- Technical writing - I have, over the years, written numerous procedural and technical manuals and other reports.
Currently my main focus is on training and I can provide customised courses for oil companies either direct or through my training provider partners.
I helped write and was lead facilitator on BP's Accelerated Development Programme for Operations Geology.
I have lectured part time for 20 years on the Masters degrees in Petroleum Geoscience at the University of Manchester and the University of Derby.
I am also a founder member of the Operations Geoscience International Competency Assessment (OGICA) team who have developed an objective skills self-assessment for all working operationally in upstream oil & gas geoscience. See our OGICA LinkedIn Page.
I am a Chartered Geologist accredited by the Geological Society of London.
I have been past chair of and have presented at a number of Operations Geology Conferences, and the results of the Operational Geoscience and Wellsite Geology surveys which I developed can be found here in files that can be downloaded.
